Angelite is the trade name for baby blue Anhydrite. If you are searching for Angelite in a mineral book, look for it under Anhydrite. Anhydrite is a common mineral which looks chalky until polished. When polished, Angelite shows a heavenly blue surface. Relatively soft, Angelite is a 3 to 3.5 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness.

Anhydrite is a form of Gypsum that has lost its water content and crystallized. Angelite Anhydrite comes from chalky coated nodules from Peru. It is slightly hygroscopic, meaning it readily absorbs moisture, so don’t leave it in water! You will find Anhydrite in drying agent in plasters, cement, paint and varnishes. It will turn back into Gypsum in humidity.

You will find Angelite in Mexico, Peru, Germany, and New Mexico.

Energetically:

  • Use Angelite to connect with your spirit guides, higher self, totem animals, the angelic realm
  • Used to clear the path for channeling
  • Have your partner carry a similar piece of Angelite to connect yourselves telepathically, especially effective when you both program the crystal for the same purpose.
  • Angelite helps to increase patience, compassion, acceptance by calming your mind.
  • Use an Angelite massage wand to calm the nerves and relieve stress.

Physically:

  • Angelite helps to heal the Throat – swollen glands, strep throat, throat cancer, etc.

Personal Experience
I have used an Angelite massage wand for a long time now. I keep it at my bedside and whenever I feel stressed, needing to relieve muscle tension, I will run it over my body. I have a collection of different crystal massage wands and I find myself picking up the Angelite when I want to feel calm and get into a more spiritual state, whereas I’ll pick up the Obsidian massage wand when I want to feel more grounded and remove negativity.

Jewelry
Many people are attracted to the glacier blue color of Angelite, and I have made some custom Angelite pieces available at I Dig Crystals. Angelite is not readily available in jewelry form.
